Tim Lobato

President

Tim Lobato is a Construction Executive offering over 30 years of experience as a respected construction manager. Since founding Lobato Construction, LLC in 2013, Tim has led the company through dramatic growth, as Lobato is now a well-known Heavy Civil contractor with revenues exceeding $20 million annually. Tim’s career has progressed all the way from his roots as a general carpenter to district superintendent, to vice president of operations, and now owner and managing member of a company. Tim has coordinated complex, environmentally-sensitive transportation projects with third parties, including Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railways.

With many years of civil and transportation project experience, Tim has been involved in design/bid/build and design-build projects in Colorado, Nebraska, California, Wyoming and Kansas, and has directed work including bridges, box culverts, and concrete placement.

Tim and his wife, Jan, are Colorado natives (and big fans of the Broncos and Nuggets) with four children between them, and 14 grandchildren they enjoy spending time with. With four Bernedoodle dogs added to the mix, they are always able to stay entertained and busy.

Tom Saele, P.E.

Estimating/Project Management

Tom Saele has been with Lobato since 2018, and is a skilled estimator and project manager with over 20 years of experience. His time in the industry has given him an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to estimate and manage projects efficiently for numerous agencies and private entities including the Federal Highway Administration, multiple state Departments of Transportation, Union Pacific Railroad, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.

A licensed Professional Engineer, Tom has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa. He is an expert in topics related to bridge deterioration and reliability. His Dedication, Integrity, and the Quality of his work are all well-known when it comes to providing high-quality service and upholding Lobato Construction’s values.

Layne Lohmeier

Estimating/Project Management

Layne Lohmeier joined the Lobato team in 2014, and is a seasoned construction project manager with over 20 years of industry expertise. With a rich background in roles at one of the Top 400 ENR Contractors, he serves as a cornerstone of leadership at Lobato Construction. With a commitment to stability and sustained growth, Layne is dedicated to keeping Lobato Construction at the forefront of the industry.

Holding a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Colorado Mesa University, Layne oversees complex business and project operations, ensuring efficient, budget-conscious completion of projects. He has managed several environmentally-sensitive projects, and has extensive experience coordinating maintenance of traffic activities, having held positions on Colorado, Texas, and Kansas DOT projects. His work upholds our core values of Integrity, Excellence, and Collaboration, no matter how his responsibilities expand and evolve.

Layne finds joy spending time with his family. Together with his wife, Brittney, and their five children, he values travel, quality family time, and enthusiastically supporting his children in their activities.

Anthony Lobato

Project Management

Anthony Lobato has been with Lobato Construction since 2013, and is an operations manager offering over 10 years of experience in managing large-scale heavy highway construction projects. Throughout his career, Anthony has held positions as project engineer, project manager, and operations manager.

Anthony is well-versed with the plans, specifications, and requirements for multiple agencies and private entities including the Federal Highway Administration, multiple state Departments of Transportation, Union Pacific Railroad, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. Through his Measured Performance, Dedication, and Work Ethic, he sets an impressive example of Lobato Construction’s Mission.

Anthony enjoys spending time with his wife, Clare, and their three children, enjoying the outdoors of Colorado.

Doug Martin

Director of safety

Doug Martin has served as Lobato Construction’s Director of Safety since 2017, and is an accomplished safety professional with over 40 years in the industry. Doug’s commitment to workplace safety and operational efficiency is matched only by the level of strategy he uses to achieve those goals. Doug has spearheaded initiatives resulting in cost savings that surpass the $1 million mark in mitigated claim expenditures. He has played a pivotal role in orchestrating comprehensive safety protocols for a prominent national enterprise, achieving zero recordable incidents across one million cumulative work hours.

Doug has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from the University of Denver. With his Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and his Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations, he contributes directly to the Accountability and Integrity that Lobato Construction clients Trust.

Doug and his wife, Anne, have three grown children with two living in Colorado and the third in Montana, along with their five grandchildren. Doug and Anne spend their free time involved in sports, church activities, and family time between Colorado and Montana.

JD Adam

Chief Operations Officer

JD Adam brings over 20 years of construction management experience to his current role at Lobato Construction. After having previously worked in various roles at three of the Top 400 ENR Contractors and leading the launch of an infrastructure division for a Nebraska-based company, he joined Lobato Construction in 2023. His primary role is to oversee operations leading to the successful completion of projects scheduled on time and on budget while upholding the company values of Accountability, Commitment, and Quality. He is also instilling a firm vision for the future of the company to maintain and promote stability while maintaining long-term growth for Lobato Construction.

JD earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management at The University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He is an active member of the Construction Industry Advisory Council at the Durham School of Architecture Engineering and Construction.

JD and his wife, Megan, have two boys. JD and Megan enjoy traveling, spending time as a family, and watching their boys play sports.

Laura Torrisi

Controller/CFO

Laura Torrisi joined Lobato Construction in October 2023, and brings over 20 years of construction, financial, and human resources management experience to her position. Her proven track record working with specialty subcontractors and general contractors makes Laura especially skilled in financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and cash management. Laura loves the variety she finds in her day-to-day duties, enjoying the challenging work and the fact that no two days are the same. Her Optimism and Dedication to Quality are shining examples of Lobato’s values.

Laura holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regis University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Certificate of Construction Management at Colorado State University. She is an active member of the Construction Financial Management Association Colorado Chapter, founding member of the Colorado Vista/Viewpoint Users Group, and recipient of the Rocky Mountain Supplier Diversity Council Nelson Ball Advocate of the Year award for her work with MWBE/DBE suppliers.

In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, friends, and senior Brussels Griffon pup Gertrude.
